My son Burschi encouraged me to volunteer in Open Door soon after he completed his transition year two weeks charity service in Open Door.
in 2004.

I took it on with some trepidation as I was not sure what skills I was bringing to volunteering, I soon became immersed in the Open Door ethos and loved volunteering.

I was delighted to be invited by Mary Hackett to join the board of Trustees.

As a trustee I began to understand the organisation better and see ways we could improve the service we delivered to our members.
My background is as a self employed entrepreneur employing up to 12 people, my primary degree is in Psychology, and my experience is with people and in a service industry.

This background is a good fit in Open Door where I as a trustee work with management, staff and members to deliver excellence in all we do.
